Hello
My name is Kirsty!
I am a mother of two, and I have been married for 20 years to my soul mate. I enjoy family, movement, art, travel, and nature! I have been teaching yoga for the last 19 years. I invite you to take a yoga class with me, whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi. We offer a wide range of classes and services at Heath Golf and Yacht.
My Work Story
I have a passion for wellness and created Flourish Yoga Therapy by blending my experiences in evidence-based occupational therapy, psychology, and Medical Therapeutic Yoga to enhance wellness in the body, mind, and spirit of my clients.
I have 20 years of clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings including skilled nursing, long-term care, specialty, inpatient rehab, home health, and wellness.
My education includes studying:
The Mind
A bachelor of science degree in psychology has empowered me to be perceptive of the emotional and motivational needs in my clients. I utilize this knowledge to encourage my clients and to provide a safe and comfortable environment to relieve stress, find confidence and become more self-aware.
The Body
A master's degree in occupational therapy has enabled me to work in the medical field since 2001. As an occupational therapist, I have worked with a variety of conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, scoliosis, osteoporosis, diabetes, fibromyalgia, high/low blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, fractures, head injuries, spinal pain, injuries, and surgeries. As an occupational therapist, I facilitated wellness, quality of life, and goal achievement with my clients by developing programs to help them gain strength, mobility, and independence.
The Spirit
After falling in love with Ashtanga yoga in 2003, I have completed over 55O hours of yoga teacher training with It's Yoga, Professional Yoga Therapy Institute, and Organic Yoga. My experience has deepened my connection with my inner spirit and love to foster that with those that I work with.
Flourish
After blending my love of yoga and my experience in healthcare, I have taken a more holistic approach... And have created Flourish Yoga to work with clients in a class setting or privately to help them thrive in the mind, body, and spirit.
